Author Presentations
Author, teacher and presenter, Lori Polydoros is available to writing presentations for school, library or youth organizations, ages (K-12+.) She can modify a presentation to fit your needs (grade level, group focus, etc.) All of her presentations include elements of the craft & business of writing plus motivational discussions about how tell your own story and find your passion. Visits can focus on following topics:
- Chasing Earthquakes: Tips on how to research
- Find the Story: Tips on how to get an interesting interview
- Writer’s Toolbox: Tips on how to fill yours!
- Find Your Passion: Tips on reaching for your dreams
- The Writer’s Journey: Tips on becoming a writer, reaching your dreams and using the writer’s toolbox
Lori can do whole-school or grade level 45–60-minute presentations, individual class or group presentations, author lunch with a smaller group of students, after-school workshops, meet the author & Q & A time. Presentations can be virtual as well (email Lori to discuss pricing)
Two free copies of the book will be mailed to you after contract signing, and your group will be given the chance to pre-order signed copy/copies or buy them the day of purchase. Fees are normally $300 per presentation hour + travel, but feel free to contact Lori to discuss special circumstances or reduced costs for multiple sessions, days or locations.
QUICK AUTHOR BIO for media/visits: Lori is the author of the recent middle grade/young adult non-fiction book QUAKE CHASERS: 15 Women Rocking Earthquake Science as a part of the Women in Power Series with Chicago Review Press, and over 75+ other books and stories published in the children’s market. As an educator, Lori has taught elementary school, middle & high school English and is an award-winning adjunct English professor at the community college level. She graduated from California University Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and minor in creative writing, earned her master’s degree in English/creative writing at Southern New Hampshire University and holds a multiple subject and secondary teaching credential in English from both California State University Fullerton, and Chapman University. She lives with her BMX-riding, motocross-announcing husband and their two rescue dogs: Ollie and Addie. Plus, she does not spend a day without Face Timing or chatting with her amazing son and daughter (both away at college.) She finds peace in her garden, the mountains, the oceans, and in new and far-off places. Mostly, she loves to tell stories about the complexities of human beings; stories that stretch the imagination and give us hope, especially during dark times.
